My Neighborhood: Wan Chai

I thought I would do a follow-up photo blog to accompany my last post. Today, I ran a 5K along the harbor and had dim sum afterwards. On the way home, I took a few pictures of my 5 minute walk from the MTR station to my house. I pass by these streets nearly every day. These sights have become so familiar to me that I realized I should stop and take some pictures before I later forget these parts of my daily life.
There seems to be a little hair salon every other block. This one has been the most successful attempt for me.

The tram that runs through the main streets of HK Island...it costs 25 cents, no matter how far you ride it. It's a bit slow, but I love taking the tram if I'm just going a short distance.

Vegetables for sale in the wet market

The Wan Chai MTR (train) exit nearest to me.

Queen's Road East, the main street adjacent to my house.

The other side of Queen's Road East (yes, many street names have an obvious British influence).

Produce for sale

The organic produce market near my house.

My street, "Kennedy Street".

Fresh fish for sale

My dry-cleaners and laundry, a block away from my house.

A new cafe that oppened up very near to my home, run by Italians.

By apartment building, "Brilliant Court".

I love this old building in the middle of all of the newness.

The Wan Chai market is near my house as well..there's lots of different stuff and junk for sale...from clothes to dried fruit to plastic products to home decorations to jewelry to knock-off designer purses, etc.
