hike over Lantau Peak

This Saturday I went hiking over Lantau Peak with a group of friends. It's the second highest peak in Hong Kong and probably the steepest incline. I'm still sore, 2 days later, but the scenery was beautiful. We started by taking a cable car, hiked, and ended at the beach by the Stoep, a South African restaurant. The cable car that leads up to the Big Buddha and some of the Lantau mountains.
On our way up at the beginning.

The man-made village and tourist area, after the cable car and before the Big Buddha and hike.

The village and monastery down below, near where we started.

We ended here...in a long line, walking along the water.

On the descent. You can see the beach in the distance where we ended up.

And on the way up...

Stopping for a rest. You can just barely see the Big Buddha, where we started.

I'm on youtube...

My friend Jesse came to visit a few weeks ago, and because he's a videographer, he made a travel video of his time here. He put it on Youtube. I'm not sure how to link it, but if you go to Youtube and search, "Jesse Johnson Hong Kong", that should be the only thing that shows up.

This link may work, I'm not sure... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux9L6AjJwRM

Check it out!

Halloween

I was "Emily Elizabeth", Cliford's friend, for Bookoween. Here I am as a "mystery reader" for a second grade class.
Along with a few friends, I dressed up as a McDonald's employee for Halloween.

Staff picture at my new school. We had "Bookoween" where students and teachers dressed up as their favorite book characters for the day. Some of the highlights: Where's Waldos, Jack and the Beanstalk, Mrs. Wishy Washy, Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom, Viola Swamp, The Tortoise and the Hare, the 7 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, and the Cat in the Hat...
