Hong Kong, chapter 2

Well, I'm back. This summer went by more quickly than I would have liked and I had a great time at home, but I am ready to move on with things and see how this year goes. I landed in Hong Kong on Tuesday night, and spent the next couple of days apartment hunting. On the first day, I checked out a bunch of places that I had found online before coming here, and only had moderate luck. Yesterday I went around with a real estate agent that the school had contracted for me, and I think I found a place! It's in the Wan Chai district, close to Causeway Bay. The location is good and the public transportation from there is quite convenient, which was important to me. Hopfully I'll get it all taken care of and wrapped up today.
For now, I'm staying in Aberdeen, at a serviced apartment, which is an apartment building with some of the services of a hotel. It's quite nice, and I have a beautiful view overlooking the water. Next week I kick off with orientation, so things will get busy again. I'm looking forward to having my friends return here in the next week or so and getting settled in.

Here are 2 welcome boxes that I found in my room when I got here, curteousy of the HKIS. I thought it was a pretty thoughtful touch.
